The food festivals never end in the City of Brotherly Love and fall is in the air!

Who loves food! Check out the activities and food trucks at Eakins Oval, the OysterFest at the Reading Terminal Market, the Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival, Oktoberfest events with excellent German food and beers and either Philadelphia Restaurant Week and or Manayunk Restaurant Week that’s taking place.

It might be September, but Halloween starts early. Get spooked at Eastern State Penitentiary with Terror Behind the Walls or Grim Philly’s scary tours. Don’t forget to check out the family fun at Peddler’s Village Scarecrow Festival.

  • Philadelphia United Jazz Festival ~ September Now until 22 ~ This festival is to promote the knowledge, power and influence of Philadelphia artists on jazz music in all its forms. 20 bands in 6 days!   • Philadelphia Restaurant Week ~ September 15 – 20 & 22 – 27 ~ Come experience 3 course meals at some of the best restaurants in Center City for a fixed price. ~ Philadelphia Restaurant Week ~
  • Rittenhouse Square Fine Art Show ~ September 20 – 22 ~ Friday 11-7 pm, Saturday 11-6 pm, Sunday 11-5 pm, more than 100 artists set up shop at Rittenhouse Square for its annual fall Fine Art Show. The festival will also feature artwork by local art students as well as professional artists.
  • Art After 5 ~ September 20Free with admission, from 5 pm to 8:45 pm. Philadelphia United Jazz Festival – Selected performers from the first annual “Philadelphia United Jazz Festival and Celebration!” will appear for a jam session. Held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the Great Stair Hall. ~ Art After 5 ~
  • OysterFest ~ September 20 ~ Held at the Reading Terminal Market from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, sample a dozen different varieties of oysters from Pearl’s Oyster Bar, alongside a dozen local craft beers from Molly Malloy’s. Net proceeds will benefit Fair Food Philly, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing healthy local food to the marketplace. ~ Oyster Fest at Reading Terminal Market ~
  • Philadelphia Phillies ~ September 20 – 22 ~ A three game series against the New York Mets at Citizens Bank Park. Cool Tip! Free face painting before every Sunday home game by Paint Your Face, inside McFadden’s Ball Park from 10:30 am until the game starts. Anyone can stop by for a free Phillie’s P or even have the Phanatic painted on their cheek!
  • Terror Behind the Walls ~ September 20 – November 9 ~ This massive retired prison, Eastern State Penitentiary, is rated as one of the top 10 haunted houses in the country. There are 6 attractions inside the cell blocks of scary prison. ~ Terror Behind the Walls ~
  • Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival ~ September 21 ~ Kicking off Manayunk Restaurant Week, from 11 am to 5 pm, the Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival will feature food trucks, gourmet food vendors and specials at Main Street’s restaurants.   • Moonlight Kayak Tour ~ September 21 ~ Starting at 8 pm, professionally guided tours of the Schuylkill River between Walnut Street Dock and Fairmount Water Works, including 1/2 hour of instruction and 1 hour on the water. ~ Moonlight Kayak Tour ~
