The rest of the month of September seems to be book solid with many events and activities for all ages. Such things as the Fringe Arts Festival, the Philadelphia United Jazz Festival, Restaurant Week, the Mexican Independence Day Festival, free music events, sporting events and so much more.

  • 2013 Fringe Arts Festival ~ Now until September 22 ~ A culmination of the provocative contemporary work that FringeArts presents year-round, the Festival serves as a platform for local, national, and international artists of all disciplines and all levels of achievement.  Anything from theater, dance, music, visual art, and everything in-between.  ~ 2013 Fringe Festival ~
  • Philadelphia Flyers Training Camp & Fan Fest ~ September 13 & 14 ~  FREE and open to the public. Doors will open at 8 am daily. The Flyers will practice on ice each day at the Wells Fargo Center from 8:30 am until 3 pm, while a variety of fan activities will take place throughout the day at XFinity Live. ~ Philadelphia Flyers Training Camp & Fan Fest ~
  • Art After 5 ~ September 13 ~ Free with admission, from 5 pm to 8:45 pm. Terell Stafford – Trumpet legend Terrell Stafford will be joined by The Philly New York Junction, featuring Tony Miceli on vibes and Chris Farr, Jill Scott’s musical director, on saxophone, for an evening of swinging jazz. Held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the Great Stair Hall. ~ Art After 5 ~

  • Friday the 13th Summer Camp Sleepover ~ September 13 to 14 ~ From 4 pm the 13th to 1 pm the 14th, the Awesome Fest will screen 6 movies while offering the usual summer camp activities as well as fishing, rock-climbing, campfires, food trucks, horror themed vendors, marshmallow roasts, scary stories, as well as many surprises! “Campers” are even encouraged to BYOB and BYOT (bring your own tent)! ~ Friday the 13th Summer Camp Sleepover ~
  • Philadelphia United Jazz Festival ~ September 13 – 22 ~ This festival is to promote the knowledge, power and influence of Philadelphia artists on jazz music in all its forms. 20 bands in 6 days!   • Mexican Independence Day Festival ~ September 15 ~ Taking place at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing from 1 pm – 7 pm, you’ll get to experience a taste of the rich Mexican culture at the festival, good Mexican food, live entertainment and learn about Mexico’s past, while witnessing the traditional “Grito de Independencia,” a civic ceremony led by the Consul of Mexico in Philadelphia. ~ Mexican Independence Day Festival ~

  • Philadelphia City Hall ~ Like Architecture? Philadelphia History? They give tours of the Philadelphia City Hall. If you go up high enough, you get to see the whole city. ~ Philadelphia City Hall~
  • Philadelphia Museum of Art – So many things that surround this museum. The “Rocky” Steps or the “Rocky” statue. A great view down Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Behind the museum, you can view Boat House Row and a few other things. ~ Philadelphia Museum of Art ~
